Ronan Carella: 10 Years of UICC Work and Lessons Learned Across Continents

Ronan Carella, Senior Congress and Events Manager at Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Yesterday marked 10 years since I joined the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).

Looking back, it’s quite striking how much this journey has shaped both my professional path and personal life. What started as a role in event management turned into a decade of working on meaningful global initiatives, with people who care deeply about making a difference.

Along the way, the job has taken me further than I ever expected – from Paris to Mexico City, Kuala Lumpur, Astana, Muscat, Long Beach, Melbourne, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and Nairobi last week. Each place came with its own challenges, cultures, and perspectives, and all of them left a mark.

It hasn’t always been easy, but that’s also what made it interesting: learning by doing, challenging myself, adapting constantly, and trying to get a little better each time.

Grateful for the people I’ve worked with over the years, and curious to see what the next chapter will bring.”
