Robin Cohen, CEO at Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation; Chair World Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Board Secretary OCRA, shared on LinkedIn:
“I count working side by side with Eva Schumacher-Wulf on the board of World Ovarian Cancer Coalition
as an incredible honor. If you ever doubted that one person could move the world, you didn’t know Eva. She was the fiercest global cancer advocate I have ever known. Her relentless fight to improve the quality and quantity of life, to make sure that the patient voice was not just at the table, but that it was the loudest one was remarkable. She did it all while calling it like it is, never mincing words, as she empowered and guided us all on the right path forward.
I’m also quite certain she taught her doctors more than any class or any rotation ever could!
Eva lived with metastatic breast cancer and she knew what her ending would be. I watched her do everything in her power to get extra time to see her boys become the young men that they are today. She was so proud of her boys.
Last month at ASCO, I got one last hug. I’m so incredibly grateful for that. She gave the best hugs. Rest easy my friend. Your legacy lives on. We carry it on, because you taught us all how it’s done.”
