“Connecting Experiences to Advance Pediatric Oncology
This week, within the framework of the National Day of Infant-Adolescent Cancer PINDA 2026 in Concepción, a great organization of Paola Olate we had the privilege of sharing with our colleagues from the Hospital Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, who contributed their experience and knowledge through excellent presentations and spaces for conversation.
Special thanks to Dr. Maite Gorostegui, Dr. Andres Morales La Madrid and Dr. Fernando Panzino, whose visit allowed us not only to update knowledge, but also to continue strengthening the bonds between our teams.
During the conference, Maite and Andrés shared their experience in areas of great relevance for current pediatric oncology, including Wilms’ tumor, rare pediatric tumors, new molecular strategies, tumors of the central nervous system and medulloblastoma. In addition to this, there were different instances of meeting and exchange with Fernando and the Sant Joan de Déu team, which allowed us to talk about how to transform international collaboration into concrete opportunities for our patients.
Beyond the presentations, these meetings have a special value: to build networks, share experiences and bring knowledge closer between centres, regardless of geographical distance.
