“The message from the public is clear: Americans overwhelmingly support strong federal investments in medical and cancer research.
A new American Association for Cancer Research national survey shows:
- 89% of voters favor using taxpayer dollars to fund medical research.
- 83% support increasing federal funding for cancer research.
- 77% would feel more favorable toward members of Congress who vote to increase this funding.
This bipartisan support underscores a shared belief, research saves lives. Continued investment in The National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute (NCI) is essential to power discovery, strengthen our scientific workforce, and bring hope to patients and families everywhere.
