Rob Pieters, President of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) and Chief Maxima International, Executive Committee of Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology, shared a post by Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie on LinkedIn, adding:
“Even before our center opened its doors in 2018 the Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie could already count on the full support by Rabobank. But the partnership they announced today is truly unique: a multi-year strategic partnership with the Princess Máxima Center Foundation to start constructing a 5,000 m2 innovation wing.
Many thanks to Janine Vos, Michel Van Schaik, and Huib De Mulder, who laid the foundation for this collaboration and my colleagues Gita Gallé, Lot Jens, Nienke Beek, and Wout-Jan Willemsen who worked hard to make this partnership possible.
The new partnership also includes building housing facilities for international pediatric oncology professionals who visit our center for training. It is wonderful to have a Foundation that supports our Máxima International program by which we help our twinning partner institutes to improve their care and research for children with cancer. Thanks!!
For the full press release.”
Quoting Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie‘s post:
“The Princess Máxima Center is going to expand! Thanks to a three-year partnership between the Princess Máxima Center Foundation and Rabobank, the Máxima Center can start expanding the center this year: an innovation wing of 5,000 m2. In order to be able to continue to invest in development and innovation in the future, expansion is necessary.
The new innovation wing offers space for progressive research, innovation in healthcare and collaboration programs. This expansion therefore supports the development of better and more effective treatments for children with cancer.
“To achieve our ambitions, our centre is and will remain highly dependent on the structural support of donors. We are therefore extremely grateful to Rabobank for their financial contribution for the next three years. This partnership will allow us to accommodate new research groups, attract leading researchers and professionals and provide them with the best facilities. In addition, it helps us to further strengthen collaborations with leading institutions for cancer care and research, both locally, nationally and internationally. Thanks to this partnership, we can take an important step forward towards our mission: to cure every child with cancer, with optimal quality of life,” says Drs. Gita Gallé, Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFO/COO) of the Princess Máxima Center.”
