Ritu Lamichhan: It Was a Privilege to Participate in the SIOP Asia Meeting as a Speaker

Ritu Lamichhan, Consultant Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist at Blood and Multispeciality Hospital and Kathmandu Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

SIOPASIA2026: Think Globally, Act Locally, Transform Together

There is something truly inspiring about bringing together professionals from across Asia with one shared purpose – to improve the lives of children with cancer.

It was a privilege to participate in the SIOP Asia meeting as a speaker, delivering two presentations, and as Chair of the Supportive Care session. Beyond the scientific program, what made this experience truly meaningful was the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from diverse experiences, and strengthen partnerships across countries facing similar challenges.

The discussions reinforced that advancing pediatric oncology is not only about new treatments, it is rather about building strong health systems, investing in supportive care, sharing knowledge, and collaborating across borders. No single institution or country can achieve this alone, but together we can accelerate progress and ensure that every child, regardless of where they live, has access to high-quality cancer care.

My sincere gratitude to the organizers, faculty, and colleagues for creating such a valuable platform for learning and partnership. Looking forward to continuing these collaborations to improve outcomes for children with cancer across our region.”
