Rima Torosyan: Honored to Present at the ASCO Poster on the State of Retinoblastoma Services

Rima Torosyan, Ophthalmologist at Wigmore Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I was honored to present my poster at the ASCO Annual Meeting 2026, highlighting the current state of retinoblastoma services and the importance of developing comprehensive care for children affected by this disease.

Retinoblastoma is a highly curable childhood eye cancer when diagnosed early and managed through a multidisciplinary approach. Establishing comprehensive retinoblastoma services including early detection, specialized ocular oncology care, imaging, treatment, genetic counseling, and long-term follow-up is essential to improving survival and vision outcomes.

For countries in our region, including Armenia, strengthening these services can help ensure that children receive timely, high-quality care close to home and increase their chances of cure while preserving vision whenever possible. My hope is that this work will contribute to the development of comprehensive retinoblastoma care in Armenia and improve outcomes for children and their families.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to H. Hovnanian Family Foundation Armenia and OncoDaily for their support, which made it possible for me to attend and present at this important meeting.

I am also deeply grateful to my mentors for their guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout this journey. Their expertise and dedication continue to inspire me and play a vital role in advancing retinoblastoma care and ocular oncology in our region.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this mission to ensure that every child with retinoblastoma has access to timely diagnosis, specialized treatment, and the best possible chance for cure.”
