Rima Torosyan: Transpupillary Thermotherapy vs I-125 Brachytherapy for Choroidal Hemangioma

Rima Torosyan, Ophthalmology Fellow at Mari Noubar Eye Clinic of YSMU Hospital Complex N1, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and colleagues authored:

“Excited to share our research publication on PubMed!

Our study, published in Cancers (MDPI), explores Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscopy-Guided Transpupillary Thermotherapy versus I-125 Plaque Brachytherapy for Choroidal Hemangioma.

This work highlights a practical, vision-preserving treatment alternative for this rare disease, which could improve outcomes for patients where other therapies are limited or unavailable.

I would like to gratefully acknowledge The Eye Cancer Foundation for sponsoring my Retinoblastoma/Ocular Oncology Fellowship at the King Hussein Cancer Center.

I am deeply thankful to all the co-authors, especially Dr. Yacoub Yousef, for their expert supervision and guidance throughout this work. I would also like to sincerely thank my Armenian mentors, whose support and connections introduced me to this amazing opportunity. It is a great honor to work and collaborate with all of you.”
