“Congratulations to all nominees and recipients at the Australian of the Year awards, particularly Katherine Bennell-Pegg, an astronaut, space engineer and respected leader in her field, who was named 2026 Australian of the Year. In each AOTY field there were shining examples of the talent, compassion, drive and diversity that our wonderful country is built on.
