“At the annual St. Jude Global Alliance Convening, Regional Advisory Committees (RACs) from around the world came together to advance the mission of improving outcomes for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
These eight committees are embedded within each St. Jude Global regional program, bringing together medical leaders, clinicians, representatives from pediatric cancer networks and collaborative groups, foundation partners, and ex officio members from St. Jude programs.
The collaborative nature of the RACs is central to their impact.
‘From inspiration to action, our journey has been transformative,’ said Marcela Hill, program manager with the St. Jude Global Alliance. ‘What began as a vision became reality through collaboration and perseverance. The St. Jude Global Alliance is more than a network; it’s people – driving creativity and execution – that make our shared mission possible.’
RACs identify regional priorities, such as workforce development, diagnostic access, treatment gaps, and survivorship needs, and provide strategic oversight for the design and implementation of regional programs. By representing their regions within the broader St. Jude Global Alliance, RACs advocate for resources and inform decision-making at the global level.
Committees foster partnerships among member institutions, local leadership, cooperative networks, ministries of health, and professional societies. They also contribute to Alliance-wide working groups, shaping cross-regional programs and participating in strategy workshops and research initiatives.
The work of the RACs is integral to the broader St. Jude Global strategy, which includes regional programs, the establishment of regional hubs, and transversal initiatives in areas such as nursing and palliative care. Through these structures, St. Jude Global continues to build capacity and improve access to quality care for children worldwide.”
