Reem Al-Ajlouni: Jordan’s 10th Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Concludes

Reem Al-Ajlouni, Executive Director of Jordan Breast Cancer Program at King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“We proudly conclude the activities of the tenth national and Arab breast cancer awareness campaign at the end of October, stressing that the awareness journey and the march of early detection continue throughout the year.

From the north to the south of Jordan, we carried with our partners a message of hope and early detection for every woman. Nearly 3000 lectures and awareness and scientific events were held, and thousands of women were able to obtain clinical and radiological early detection services, including more than 7100 mammograms.

What made this tour special?

  • It was not just lectures, but open dialogues and awareness and medical events in which we met thousands of women and men in cities and villages.
  • Thanks to the inspiring stories of survivors and the efforts of service providers to deliver scientific messages in a smooth language, the talk about cancer has been transformed from a source of fear into a message of hope.
  • We strive to ensure that early detection services reach every woman, regardless of her geographical location.
  • The cooperation and initiatives of the youth added new energy, as they contributed in innovative ways to spreading awareness messages and organizing field events, stressing that awareness is the responsibility of an entire generation.

This campaign was a national campaign par excellence that carried in its details the spirit of authentic Jordan, a country full of generosity and the authenticity of its people, rich in its culture.

Sincere thanks to all partners in the public and private sectors, civil society institutions, student initiatives, youth and women’s events.

Thank you to the Jordan Breast Cancer Program team and volunteers who are behind every success.”
