Reem Al-Ajlouni, Executive Director of Jordan Breast Cancer Program at King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“The fight against breast cancer in Jordan through JBCP is a testament to the power of collective action and a profound belief in health equity.
In our recent publication ‘Jordan’s Approach to Breast Cancer Early Detection’ in the AIBMENA International Public Policy Insights, I share with my colleague Asma’a Sartawi how the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP) of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center in collaboration with the Ministry of Health- has reshaped the landscape of breast cancer early detection.
From nationwide awareness campaigns and mobile mammography units to strengthened health service delivery, we highlight how multi-sectoral collaboration, community engagement, and expanded diagnostic access were key to shifting diagnoses to earlier stages.
This is not only an experience in health systems strengthening, but also a reflection of Jordan’s belief that every woman deserves a fair chance at survival.
Key Takeaway:
Jordan’s experience demonstrates that even in resource-constrained settings, early detection is achievable when we invest in people, build trust with communities, and ensure equity in access to health services.
A special thanks to Professor Immanuel Azaad Moonesar the President of the Academy of International Business MENA and Health Policy and Systems Research Professor at MBRSG for his support.”
