Raymond Chan: Big News for Australian Science and Research

Raymond Chan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research at Flinders University, shared Tim Ayres’s, Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science and Senator for New South Wales at Parliament of Australia, post on LinkedIn, adding:

“Great news for Australia!

Investing in research and innovation isn’t a choice – it’s how any nation grows its economy and secures its wellbeing.”

Quoting Tim Ayres’s post:

“Big news for Australian science and research!

Australia is one step closer to accessing Horizon Europe, the world’s largest research and innovation program.

The Albanese Labor Government has formally concluded treaty negotiations with the European Commission, marking an important step toward Australian association with the A$155 billion program.

Once finalised, Horizon Europe will give Australian researchers, universities and organisations the chance to apply for grants and work on major global projects from 2027!

It means more opportunities for Australian ideas and Australian talent, in fields like clean energy, critical minerals, digital technology, AI and advanced manufacturing.”
