Ravindran Kanesvaran: Celebrating a Milestone at the NCCS 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner

Ravindran Kanesvaran, Chair and Senior Consultant at Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre Singapore, shared on LinkedIn:

“Over the weekend, we celebrated a milestone at the NCCS 25th anniversary gala dinner with the generous support of the Murdaya family(Prajna Murdaya), whose donation will help establish RISE – a newly formed research institute dedicated to cancer screening, prevention, and early detection.

RISE will be co-led by the National Cancer Centre Singapore and Nanyang Technological University Singapore LKC Medicine, and aims to accelerate breakthroughs that can save lives by detecting cancers earlier and more effectively. Graced by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the gala dinner itself raised over 2.8 million dollars that evening, on top of the total of over 20.5 million dollars raised year-to-date, for cancer research and patient support programs.

Kudos to Vikna Rajah and the Gala organising Committee for the amazing effort in making this event a success.

Cancer screening and prevention an area especially close to my heart. Together with Prof Jon Emory(LKC Medicine), I will be committing significant time and effort to developing this institute and driving its mission. The journey ahead will bring opportunities to transform how we approach cancer control in Singapore and the region.

More details will be shared in the coming months, and I look forward to engaging partners and colleagues who share this vision.”
