Rasha Aboelhassan: Turning Egypt’s Medical Heritage Into Progress in Education, Collaboration, and Patient Care

Rasha Aboelhassan, Council Member at International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Senior Oncology Consultant at Nasser Institute Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:

“From Imhotep to today’s Egyptian physicians: A legacy of wisdom, a responsibility for the future.

The title doctor has always meant more than knowledge. It means the wisdom to make difficult decisions, the courage to face challenges, and the responsibility to stand beside patients when it matters most.

I am honored by this recognition from the Cairo Medical Syndicate. I see it not merely as an honor, but as a higher responsibility to our patients, our colleagues, and the next generation of Egyptian physicians.

Through Thoracic Circle, we must turn our medical heritage into meaningful progress in education, collaboration, and patient care.

Our heritage gives us pride. Our actions must give it meaning.”
