Ransom Onyema, Medical Radiographer, Freelance Medical Writer at Medentee, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday, I officially graduated from the Department of Radiography, Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Class of 2025, with a Second Class Lower Division (3.39 CGPA).
If I’m being truthful, I’m not entirely happy with the sole result.
But I know the substance I do carry, and I know this is not where my story ends.
There are more degrees to earn, more milestones to achieve, and a PhD remains part of the vision.
My sole journey through FUTO was far from easy.
There were moments I genuinely doubted I would ever graduate.
I battled financial struggles, depression, uncertainty, and had very little support systems.
Yet, God kept me going.
My clinical journey started in 200 Level at Everight Diagnostic and Laboratory Services Limited, where I spent four months before moving to FMC Owerri (now a teaching hospital).
For over two years, I balanced classes with clinical postings, learning X-ray positioning, chest X-rays, lumbar spine X-rays, pelvic X-rays, HSG, barium studies, and many other procedures.
Today, I can confidently perform several X-ray examinations independently while remaining committed to learning more.
I am so deeply grateful to all my chiefs and mentors at FMC Owerri for their solid guidance.
I also gained hands-on experience in CT and MRI at Regions Healthcare in collaboration with LabRad Diagnostics, where I solely strengthened my practical skills in advanced imaging.
Today, I perform obstetric, pelvic, abdominal, and abdominal-pelvic ultrasound scans, thanks to the training and mentorship of Dr. Peter Ojike, one of the finest medical radiographers I have encountered.
It was also during my fourth year that I launched my YouTube channel, proving that growth can happen even during difficult seasons.
To everyone I’ve connected with on LinkedIn, thank you for being part of this journey.
As I step into this next chapter, I am open to speaking engagements, medical writing opportunities, healthcare collaborations, and YouTube paid partnerships.
The journey continues. The best is yet to come.”
