Devika Das, MD, was fascinated with medicine growing up. She used that passion to propel her through medical school in India. However, it wasn’t until her internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham that this first-generation physician knew she wanted to dedicate her career to oncology.
Dr. Das is a thoracic medical oncologist, physician executive, educator, and researcher with more than a decade of leadership experience in academic and community oncology. She has served as Section Chief of Oncology at the Birmingham VA and Division Director at the University of Mississippi, helping lead efforts to establish Mississippi’s first NCI-designated cancer program.
Her expertise includes comprehensive cancer program development, quality and safety, lung cancer screening, and expanding equitable access to clinical trials. As Associate Director for Clinical Affairs at the Cancer Institute at the University of Mississippi, she oversees initiatives aimed at delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care and improving outcomes for patients across the state.”
