Ramez Eskander Has Been Named The Inaugural Holder of Julie St. John Endowed Chair in Gynecologic Oncology

Ramez Eskander, Associate Professor at UC San Diego Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am deeply honored and profoundly grateful to share that I have been named the inaugural holder of the Julie St. John Endowed Chair in Gynecologic Oncology at UC San Diego.

This extraordinary gift, made possible through Julie St. John’s remarkable generosity, is both humbling and inspiring. Julie created this endowed chair out of gratitude for her experience as a patient, and I am continually moved by her courage, compassion, and commitment to ensuring that others facing gynecologic cancers have access to exceptional care, innovative research, and hope for the future. To be entrusted with an endowed chair that bears her name is a true privilege and a responsibility I hold with great care.

I am also deeply thankful to my colleagues, mentors, trainees, and the entire UC San Diego Health and Moores Cancer Center community. This honor reflects the collective dedication of an incredible team who show up every day with expertise, humanity, and an unwavering commitment to our patients. I am fortunate to work alongside individuals whose collaboration and shared mission make advances in care and discovery possible.

I am inspired by the opportunity this chair provides to accelerate progress in gynecologic oncology and to honor Julie’s generosity by continuing to serve patients and families with excellence. With sincere gratitude to Julie St. John and to the many colleagues who walk this journey with me — thank you for the trust, the partnership, and the shared commitment to transforming lives.”
