“Dear friends, after three deeply fulfilling years, i have stepped down from my role as Consultant Medical Oncologist at Renai Medicity. This chapter has been one of the most meaningful phases of my career, and I leave with immense gratitude and pride.
My heartfelt thanks to our Medical Director, Managing Director, and Vice President for trusting me with the responsibility of building and growing the Department of Medical Oncology and Hemato-Oncology from ground zero. Their support made every achievement possible. Over these three years, we were able to build a comprehensive and compassionate oncology service that I am truly proud of: Established the Departments of Medical Oncology and Hemato-Oncology.
Set up a Chemotherapy Day Care Unit compliant with NABH norms – from an initial 5 beds to 10+ beds. Implemented chemotherapy protocols adhering to international standards. Built an exceptional multidisciplinary team – from starting with just a doctor and a nurse to now having:
• Surgical Oncologist
• Radiation Oncologist
• Psycho-Oncologist
• Onco-Pathologist
• Onco-Critical Care
• Clinical Pharmacist
• Trained Chemotherapy Nurses
A dedicated Medical Social Worker managing our cancer helpline. This team has been the backbone of the department, and I will truly miss working with them. Took on the additional role of Palliative Care Physician and with the help of the Family Medicine team we extended our palliative care services to Renai Home.
Initiated the Preventive Oncology Wing for early cancer detection, including cancer awareness programs and screening camps. Was fortunate to establish a Clinical Trials Unit, enabling participation in national and global phase 3 trials and presenting our work on international platforms. Launched the Hospital-Based Cancer Registry Program at Renai Medicity. Our Multidisciplinary Tumor Board grew into a vibrant forum where every department contributed wholeheartedly for the best patient outcomes. To all the physicians who trusted me by referring their patients – thank you for your confidence. To all my patients – thank you for your trust, strength, and belief in me.
And above all, thanks to God for guiding me through this journey. Thank you, Renai Medicity, for the memories, the trust, and the opportunity. Time to move on – with gratitude and hope.”
