Rahul Kumar, Medical Oncology Trainee at AIIMS, New Delhi, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Fortunate to receive the MASCC Conference Scholarship Award, making this MASCC26 experience even more special and giving me the opportunity to be part of this global supportive care community in Melbourne.
As a young oncologist from India, this recognition means a lot and serves as strong encouragement to continue contributing to supportive care, survivorship, and patient-centred oncology.
I was also grateful for the opportunity to present our work on “Socioeconomic Outcomes of Childhood Cancer Survivors in India”, based on our structured tertiary care Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program at AIIMS New Delhi. Through this work, we highlighted the educational disruption, financial hardship, and employment challenges faced by childhood cancer survivors; issues that are especially relevant in India and other LMIC settings.
I sincerely thank The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) for this opportunity, and I am deeply grateful to Prof. Sameer Bakhshi, Atul Batra, Deepam Pushpam, Shuvadeep Ganguly, and Archana Sasi for their guidance, support, and encouragement.”
