Ragav Vikraman Thiyagarajan, Junior Doctor, shared on LinkedIn:
“A few years ago, presenting at an international conference felt like a distant goal. This week, I had the opportunity to stand beside my own research poster at the ESMO Gastrointestinal Cancers Congress 2026 in Munich.
My work, Persistent Rise and Demographic Disparities in Pancreatic Cancer Mortality: A 25-Year U.S. Population Analysis (1999–2024), explored long-term mortality trends and highlighted disparities that continue to influence outcomes.
Beyond presenting the research, what made this experience memorable were the conversations with clinicians, researchers, and fellow trainees from around the world. Hearing different perspectives reminded me that research is as much about collaboration and curiosity as it is about data.
I’m grateful to my mentors, co-authors, and everyone who contributed to this work. This experience has only strengthened my interest in academic medicine and clinical research, and I look forward to carrying these lessons into the next stage of my journey.
Here’s to learning, collaborating, and asking better questions.”
