Raffaella Casolino: The 1st Official World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day

Raffaella Casolino, Technical Officer in the Department of Noncommunicable Diseases, Rehabilitation, and Disability at WHO in Geneva, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Today is the first official World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day.

We celebrate the incredible progress made over the past years in HPV vaccination, screening, early diagnosis, and treatment. But we also recognize how much work remains to ensure that every girl and every woman, everywhere, can benefit from these life-saving interventions.

I am proud to support the World Health Organization Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative, a global commitment to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem within a generation. The goal is achievable only if we continue to invest, scale up, and ensure equitable access.

No woman should die from a disease we can prevent and cure.

Thank you to my dear colleagues who are pushing this important agenda forward.”
