Radwa A. Yassin: Exciting and Historic Opportunity at The 1st ASCO Africa Regional Council

Radwa A. Yassin, Deputy Managing Director Ain Shams University Cancer Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:

“Exciting News from American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)!

We are delighted to celebrate the expansion of the ASCO Sub-Saharan Regional Council into the 1st ASCO Africa Regional Council – an important milestone toward a more connected, inclusive, and representative oncology community across our continent.

For the first time, 4 additional seats will be dedicated to North Africa, representing Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Sudan.

Special thanks and appreciation to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) leadership and committee members for this valuable and forward looking decision, recognizing the importance of broader representation and collaboration across Africa.

We warmly invite eligible colleagues from North Africa to embrace this opportunity to contribute, engage, and help reshape the future of ASCO Africa.

This is more than an expansion in representation – it is an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, exchange knowledge, and create greater opportunities for the next generation of oncologists across Africa.

One Africa. One oncology community. Stronger together.
