Radwa A. Yassin Highlights Ain Shams–ASCO Collaboration for World Cancer Day 2026

Radwa A. Yassin, Head of CNS Malignancy Unit at Ain Shams Demerdash Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“For more than seven decades, Ain Shams University has stood at the heart of medical education and healthcare development. Through its 15+ specialized medical faculties, institutes, and research centers, the University has educated tens of thousands of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare professionals, many of whom now serve on the frontlines of healthcare across Egypt and the region.

With decades of impact in oncology education, research, and patient care, Ain Shams University Hospitals have helped serve hundreds of thousands of patients and train generations of oncologists across Egypt and the region. Complementing this legacy, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) continues to invest globally in the next generation of oncology leaders through grants, fellowships, and leadership development programs.

We are proud to co-host a virtual World Cancer Day webinar, bringing together decision-makers, oncology leaders, and experts from across the region to share insights, shape dialogue, and drive meaningful change.

This call for collaboration focuses on what matters most: supporting the next generation of oncologists with a shared commitment to achieving global impact and meaningful local change across Africa and the MENA region.

This World Cancer Day (WCD2026) is not just a moment of awareness. We are building leaders, shaping futures, and investing in a generation that will carry the fight against cancer forward. It is a movement toward hope, equity, and lasting impact—powered by the next generation.

Stay tuned for the detailed agenda.”
