“Strengthening Radiation Oncology in Ukraine – One Training at a Time.
Another successful 3-day hands-on workshop for medical physicists has been completed in Ukraine under the expert leadership of Ruslan Zelinskyi, this time focused on LINAC commissioning and quality assurance (QA).
This is already Session 8 of 15 planned for 2025-26 – part of the nationwide effort to modernize and strengthen radiotherapy services. Help Ukraine Group – HUG proudly trained the next cohort of dedicated Ukrainian medical physicists:
- Volodymyr Lebid – Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Kherson Regional Oncology Dispensary” of the Kherson Regional Council
- Alina Myroshnyk – Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Cherkasy Regional Oncology Dispensary” of the Cherkasy Regional Council
- Yevhen Derevianko – Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Podillia Regional Oncology Center” of the Vinnytsia Regional Council
- Oleksandr Fedorets – Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Khmelnytskyi Regional Anti-Tumor Center” of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council
Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine continues its historic transition from Co-60 machines to modern LINACs – with over 20 new accelerators installed in the past two years. High-quality training remains the key to safe and sustainable radiotherapy.
Heartfelt thanks to Ruslan Zelinskyi for his leadership, expertise, and unwavering commitment to advancing radiotherapy education across Ukraine.
Special gratitude to our partners Swecare and Elekta for supporting cancer care modernization.
Together, we’re building a resilient, modern future for Ukrainian cancer patients – one training at a time.”
