Dr. Supreeth’s New Post Series About Clinical Pearls in Oncology Aimed for Young Oncologists

Supreeth R. N., Consultant Medical Oncologist at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, shared a series of posts on LinkedIn:

“Starting ‘Clinical Pearls in Oncology’ series.

Based on real-world cases I have encountered/treated.

Simple yet critical clinical diagnoses that can be missed in a busy clinic, but matter deeply for patient care.

In the buzz of recent clinical trials advances and conferences, we tend to forget clinical medicine which is critical to manage most of the patients we encounter in day to day practice.

This initiative is aimed to educate oncology PGs, young oncologists and cancer care clinicians in that direction.”

2nd post in the series:

“In the ‘Clinical Pearls in Oncology’ series, let’s learn another rare but important IrAE caused by Immune check point inhibitors.

ICI-induced inflammatory arthritis is under-reported and needs a high index of clinical suspicion for early diagnosis. My experience with Case 1 and the learning that followed, led to early recognition of Case 2.

I thank both my patients for being my teachers here and to Dr Prashant Bafna, Rehumatologist for guiding me on management.”

3rd post in the series:

“Third one in the ‘Clinical Pearls in Oncology’ series. Today let’s understand pseudo-AKI in Oncology, which is a very common yet under-discussed issue. I’m using a couple of cases I came across in my practice to walk us through the concept.”
