Bogda Koczwara Shared Study Linking Community Engagement to Longer Survival in Prostate Cancer
Bogda Koczwara, Director of Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship, shared on LinkedIn about a recent paper by Yan Yu et al., published in Psycho-Oncology:
“When it comes to cancer survival, communities matter.
This cohort study of over 13,000 survivors of prostate cancer showed lower mortality for those who participated in religious activities, sport clubs or gyms, did not smoke and had someone to confide in.
Communities are the hidden powerhouses for health, time to build them up.”
