Princess Dina: The Voice for the Voiceless – CancerWorld
CancerWorld shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Princess Dina: The Voice for the Voiceless
Her Royal Highness Princess Dina Mired of Jordan has long been one of the most influential voices in the fight against cancer and non-communicable diseases.
But her journey into advocacy was not born of privilege, it was born of necessity.
As she powerfully says:
“I didn’t choose cancer. It was never on my radar. But cancer chose our family.”
When her son was diagnosed with leukemia at just two years old, Princess Dina’s life changed forever. That personal battle became the foundation of a mission: to ensure no patient, anywhere, is left behind because of where they live or how much they earn.
From transforming the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center into a world-class institution, to leading the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) as its first Arab and first non-medical President, to being the civil society voice at the United Nations General Assembly, Princess Dina has shifted the global cancer conversation, from stigma to hope, from privilege to equity.
Today, through her advocacy and her podcast Global Health Dialogues, she continues to challenge inequities, amplify patient voices, and push for global solidarity.
Because, as she reminds us: “Everyone is poor before cancer.”
