Hiba Ali, Oncology Medical Science Liaison for the Gulf Countries at AstraZeneca, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article on Patient-Reported Outcomes:
“In trials, every number tells a story, but sometimes the most powerful signals come from the patient’s own words.
A recent JAMA Oncology study suggests that patient-reported outcomes (PROs) like quality of life, fatigue, and symptom burden can independently predict overall survival. This finding challenges us to look beyond scans and lab tests. It means that when we consistently capture and act on what patients report; how they feel, function, and live, we may actually improve survival, not just comfort.
Precision care isn’t only about targeted molecules. It’s also about understanding patient experience and turning those insights into action.“
