“Congratulations to Dr Irene A George on successfully defending her thesis!
During her doctoral research, she focused on identifying proteomic signatures distinguishing responders and nonresponders in Cervical Cancer and discovered a therapeutic target!
CERVICAL CANCER continues to be a major challenge in many parts of India and across the globe, and this work represents an incredible team effort Janani Sambath Richa Chauhan Shama Prasada Kabekkodu Sewanti Limaye, MBBS, MD, MS Dr Kumar Prabhash and many more who helped us in addressing a critical clinical problem. Irene’s study led to the discovery of a promising biomarker that can stratify patients likely to respond to chemoradiation therapy in cervical cancer.
Her accomplishments are truly remarkable- 11 publications, 2 book chapters and numerous presentations at national and international conferences. This milestone reflects her scientific perseverance, intellectual rigor, and passion for advancing research. As her mentor, I am extremely proud of her achievement and growth as a Scientist!
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr Richa Chauhan, our clinical collaborator, whose deep intrest in research was instrumental in initiating this project. Her commitment to translating our findings from bench to bedside continues to inspire us.
Grateful to Institute of Bioinformatics (IOB) for unwavering support, cultivating an inspiring environment that empowers students and researchers to dream big and achieve more! and to all the faculty members, staff and students who played a vital role in supporting Irene throughout her journey!
We are equally privileged to have Prof Sanjeeva Srivastava Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay as the external examiner for Irene’s thesis. A distinguished leader in the field of proteomics, his insightful guidance and constructive feedback have been invaluable in shaping the future of Indian Proteomics landscape. Kudos to him for his continued support!”
