Iwona Lugowska, Head of the Center of Excellence in Precision Oncology, shared Polish Cancer Mission Hub’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“A very inspiring meeting – the first of five kick-offs of the Polish Cancer Mission Hub.
We want each of the stakeholders to have the opportunity to present their perspective and determine the most effective form of further cooperation.
As organizers, we are glad that the talks with the first group of stakeholders – representatives of the industry – were so inspiring. Thanks to them, priorities begin to emerge that we will be able to develop together in order to effectively implement the Mission to Fight Cancer in Poland.
Together we can do more!”
Quoting Polish Cancer Mission Hub’s post:
“On 11 September, the first of five working meetings of the Polish Cancer Mission Hub took place, organized with representatives of each of the stakeholder groups in accordance with the Penta Helix model.
This model has become an inspiring reference point for the further development of cooperation between:
-(Research and Academia),
-Oncological care (Healthcare Providers),
-Public administration (Policy Makers),
-Industry,
-Non-governmental organisations, including Patients and Citizens.
The aim of the meetings is to discuss the priorities and possibilities of involving each of the stakeholders in the implementation of the assumptions of the Mission Cancer Program and the European Beating Cancer Plan.
The first meeting was dedicated to the industry sector – the Industry Stakeholders Group. It was very inspiring – the participants unanimously emphasized openness to dialogue and readiness to act together.
In the course of a stormy but constructive discussion, key areas for further cooperation were selected (number of votes in brackets):
-Precision Oncology (26)
-Clinical Trials (25)
-Patient Path (20)
-Digital Medicine (20)
-Health education / fight against disinformation (20)
-Oncology diagnostics (14)
-Prevention (10)
-We would like to thank all participants for their active participation and valuable recommendations!
At the same time, we would like to inform you that the list of partners from the industrial sector (INDUSTRY) remains open – we invite all companies interested in co-creating the Polish Cancer Mission Hub to contact us.
More meetings coming soon:
-19 September – with representatives of patient organisations,
-25 September – with representatives of science,
-2 October – with representatives of the cancer care system (healthcare providers),
-30 October – with policy makers.
This is just the beginning – together we are creating an action plan for the effective implementation of the Mission to Fight Cancer in Poland.
Even more inspiration, partnerships and joint activities ahead!”
