“Celebrate the women shaping the future of science.
Join us for the 10th annual Women in Science Symposium and Lea Medal Award presentation, held in the lead-up to International Women’s Day. This special milestone event shines a spotlight on extraordinary women in research and recognises the early and mid-career researchers driving discovery at Peter Mac.
This year’s symposium features a keynote from Professor Georgina Such, Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion and Athena Swan Lead at the University of Melbourne, alongside inspiring speakers Associate Professor Marliese Alexander and Dr Najoua Lalaoui, who will share insights from across clinical, translational and laboratory research.
We’ll also unveil the 2026 Lea Medal winners, celebrating excellence and potential in women researchers at Peter Mac, with each medal providing $50,000 in career advancement support, made possible by generous donations to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation.
Whether you work in research, healthcare, or are passionate about equity and leadership in STEM, this is a morning not to miss.
