Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A $5 million National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) grant will help Peter Mac researchers tackle one of cancer’s toughest challenges: advanced, metastatic disease.
Led by Professor Belinda Parker, the project will focus on understanding how metastatic cancers evade the immune system — and how to dismantle those defences to make immunotherapy work for more people.
By studying advanced cancers in new ways and testing next-generation immune strategies, the team hopes to expand the benefits of immunotherapy to patients who currently have few options.
