Pawel Koczkodaj: Strengthening Polish-Danish Cooperation in Cancer Prevention

Pawel Koczkodaj, Head of the Laboratory of Primary Prevention and Health Policy at the Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, shared on LinkedIn:

“Over the past few days, I had the pleasure of taking part in a high-level study visit to Copenhagen, focused on exchanging experiences and strengthening Polish-Danish cooperation in healthcare.

One of the highlights of the visit was a meeting with the leadership of Danish Cancer Society (Kræftens Bekæmpelse), where I had the opportunity to share Poland’s experience in cancer prevention.

Our discussions focused on HPV vaccination, tobacco and nicotine prevention, obesity prevention, and increasing participation in cancer screening programmes.

We also outlined concrete plans for future collaboration, particularly in the field of primary cancer prevention.

Another important part of the visit was a meeting at the Polish Embassy in Copenhagen, attended by Ms Ewa Dębska, Acting Chargé d’Affaires of Poland to Denmark, and H.E. Mr Jakob Henningsen, Ambassador of Denmark to Poland.

The delegation also included Ms Monika Wielichowska, Deputy Marshal of the Polish Sejm, Dr Pawel Grzesiowski, Chief Sanitary Inspector of Poland, and Mr Marek Augustyn, Vice President of the National Health Fund.

Many thanks to everyone involved in organising this valuable visit, especially Rafal Hubert Tarlowski from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Poland for his dedication and continued support of our activities.

I look forward to turning these discussions into concrete joint initiatives with our Danish partners.

More details about the visit are available in Polish on the official website of the Polish Parliament.”
