Amy C. Moore: Patients Become Friends, and the Losses Sting

Amy C. Moore, Director of Patient Engagement and Advocacy at Summit Therapeutics, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am so grateful for the special time Angus Pratt and I shared at WCLC24.

Patients become friends, and the losses sting. There was a session on compassion fatigue during the conference, and I went to the mic to state the need for resources to support advocates on this front. Except it was the first time I verbalized how hard the losses weigh on me and others, and I became a blubbery mess at the mic.

Angus was behind me in line to ask a question. When I broke, he consoled me. And after he signed off in what would be his last blog, I sent him a note to thank him for holding my heart in his hands in that moment last year.

He was a kind soul and a fierce advocate. He will be missed.”
