WHO Country Office in Georgia shared a post on LinkedIn:
“WHO Country Office in Georgia, in collaboration with City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), organized a Patient Navigation Workshop in Tbilisi. The event brought together representatives from government institutions, clinical services, research organizations, and patient advocacy groups to examine the role of patient navigation in strengthening breast cancer care pathways.
Discussions focused on the current challenges in Georgia, where breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, and late-stage detection continues to be prevalent.
Participants reviewed global guidance, shared international and local experiences, and worked collectively to outline context-specific strategies aimed at reducing delays across the continuum of care: from screening and diagnosis to treatment completion. The workshop concluded with agreement on priority actions for 2026 to advance patient navigation as part of the broader effort to achieve the targets of the WHO Global Breast Cancer Initiative.”
