Partha Basu։ HPV-FASTER-Implement Aims to Accelerate Cervical Cancer Elimination in Europe

Partha Basu, Head of the Early Detection, Prevention and Infections Branch at International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), shared on LinkedIn:

“Excited to share our recently published article on the HPV-FASTER-Implement project, which aims to accelerate cervical cancer elimination in Europe by integrating HPV vaccination with HPV-based screening for vulnerable populations.

The article published in the Cancer Control journal describes development of a capacity assessment protocol adapting the CanScreen-SARA protocol earlier developed by IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization for CBIG-SCREEN project.

Using an adapted health system readiness assessment protocol, we are evaluating the capacity of services across several European countries to deliver combined prevention strategies to groups often underserved by healthcare systems.

The findings will help tailor interventions and strengthen cervical cancer prevention services where they are needed most.

Congratulations Isabel Mosquera Metcalfe and others in the HPV-FASTER Implement Consortium for the great work.”
