Parham J. Kaboli: FDA Approves First RAS Inhibitor for Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer

Parham J. Kaboli, Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at UT MD Anderson, shared on LinkedIn:

As a PGY‑3 postdoctoral fellow in my second postdoc at UT MD Anderson , days like this hit differently.

The FDA has approved Rasonque, the first RAS inhibitor for metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma – and MD Anderson played a major role in the clinical trials behind it.

This is exactly why integrating basic KRAS biology with clinical care matters.

After my first month at MD Anderson, I’m digging into new ways to target KRAS signaling – driven by moments like this that prove how bench science can actually change what patients get in the clinic.

A meaningful step forward for the field.”
