On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the CHANCE (CHildren AgaiNst CancEr) Association will host the 2nd Pediatric and Nenonatal Palliative Care Symposium, a comprehensive day of scientific exchange and celebration at the Fondation Charles Corm, Beirut, Lebanon.
Under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, the event combines a high-level scientific symposium with the closing ceremony of a national project focused on innovation in pediatric pain and psycho-oncology. The symposium is proudly endorsed by the Lebanese Association for Palliative Care Nursing.
The Scientific Program begins at 10:30 AM with registration and a viewing of the children’s art exhibition. International keynote speaker Professor Julia Downing, Chief Executive of the ICPCN, will lead sessions on global perspectives and evidence-based advocacy in children’s palliative care. Expert panels will address prenatal and neonatal care as well as the current landscape of palliative services in Lebanon, featuring specialists from major institutions like AUBMC, LAU Medical Center, and Hôtel-Dieu de France. Clinical sessions will also explore pediatric pain management and the pioneering use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in treatment.
The afternoon Closing Event, starting at 3:30 PM, marks the completion of the National Pioneer Project: Innovation and Immersive Technology in Pediatric Pain, Psycho-Oncology and Palliative Care. This ceremony highlights the initiative’s impact through testimonials from children and parents, followed by official addresses from Prof. Roula Farah, President of CHANCE, and H.E. Dr. Rakan Nassereddine. The day concludes with the “Brushstrokes of Hope” art exhibition and a piano performance by Ms. Guilnar Majdalani, honoring the collective efforts of the seven hospital partners and trained psychologists involved.
Registration for the symposium is free but mandatory via an online form, while attendance for the closing event can be confirmed by calling 70-812259 or emailing chanceassociation@gmail.com.
