Orges Spahiu, Head of Radiation Oncology Department, Oncology Service at Mother Teresa University Hospital Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week, the Radiation Therapy Unit of the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center took part in the IAEA Regional Training Course on Practical Aspects of Pediatric Radiotherapy, held in the Netherlands.
The course marks an important first step in building specialized radiotherapy teams across Europe to care for children with cancer. It gathered professionals committed to advancing pediatric oncology through collaboration and innovation.
A key moment was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology and the IAEA. The ceremony was attended by Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, after whom the center is named, and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
Though modest in appearance, the signing symbolized a major step forward in uniting global efforts to strengthen pediatric cancer treatment, a mission where expertise and compassion walk hand in hand.”
