Olubukola Ayodele: Happy to be Presenting My 6 Abstracts at SABCS 2025

Olubukola Ayodele, Breast Cancer Lead at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“This morning began with truly exciting news, all 6 abstracts I submitted have been accepted for presentation at the 2025 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS).

Three of these focus on the CONCISE Study, a project I have been privileged to spearhead. The CONCISE Study is the largest pan-UK real-world audit of adjuvant abemaciclib use in high-risk early breast cancer. It involved 21 NHS Trusts across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, bringing together data from over 1,000 patients.

Why is this important?

Because while clinical trials remain the gold standard for evidence generation, real-world evidence (RWE) is critical to understanding how therapies are used outside trial settings, in diverse patient populations, and within the realities of day-to-day practice. These insights directly shape how we deliver better, more equitable cancer care.

Achieving this level of collaboration across the UK was no small feat. It was made possible by a shared commitment to improving outcomes for breast cancer patients and by the use of the Ledidi platform, which allowed us to collect, manage, and analyse data seamlessly and securely across multiple sites. Technology like this doesn’t just make research easier, it makes large-scale, collaborative, multicentre studies a reality, and ensures that every data point contributes to advancing care.

I am deeply grateful to all my colleagues across the 21 NHS Trusts who contributed to this work and to the patients whose data form the foundation of this evidence. This achievement is a testament to what is possible when collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to patient-centred research come together.

I look forward to sharing our findings in San Antonio this December and continuing the conversation on how we can strengthen the bridge between clinical trials and real-world practice to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients.”
