Olivia Mannion, Account Supervisor at PAN Communications, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today is my 30th birthday. It is a blessing to enter the next decade!
To kick off this next decade and as a proud Junior Board member for Stupid Cancer, I’m participating in ‘Another Stupid Challenge‘ by running 30 miles in 30 days to raise $2,500 – enough to send one AYA cancer patient or survivor to CancerCon, the only national conference designed specifically for our community.
AYA cancer patients often face unique challenges and can easily fall through the cracks of the healthcare system, leading to isolation, loneliness, and lack of peer support during an already difficult time. CancerCon helps change that by creating space for education, connection, advocacy, and community.
To make this effort go even further, an anonymous donor has pledged to match donations up to $2,500. Meaning, if we reach the goal, we will be able to send two patients/survivors to CancerCon next year.
The photo attached is my sponsorship calendar for the challenge. Each day represents one mile of the 30 miles I’ll be running, and each sponsor can ‘claim‘ a day/mile with a donation of any amount. My goal is to fill the entire calendar with the Flip the bird mascot!
Having recently attended CancerCon in Seattle, I experienced firsthand how meaningful it is to connect with others who truly understand the realities of navigating cancer as a young adult. It is an experience that can be genuinely life-changing, and I would love to help make that possible for others!
If you would like to support the challenge, donations of any size make a difference. When donating leave me a message with the day/mile you would like to sponsor.
Please consider donating here.
Thank you for your ongoing support! ”
