“NIH is proposing to stop telling applicants their peer review score.
Under the RFI it issued on 14 August, the final overall impact score would be replaced by a category only.
A score is still calculated for every discussed application – it’s just used to assign the category, and then withheld.
Not only from you and your institution, but from NIH program staff, ICO leadership, and Advisory Councils.
In this edition I go through what the notice actually says, and where I think it goes wrong.
NIH is open for comments until 13 October. If you have a view, that’s where it belongs.
