“As we near the end of a tumultuous year in the world, in the US and in science in the US its not a bad idea to take stock of what really matters.
I am devoted to supporting scientists and supporting science – and I do that with my work at the Night Science Institute, and by coaching and consulting for scientists. And I will keep doing it, hopefully better, next year.
Equally important is getting the message out to more people about how critical science is – and how it saves lives.
In the world of cancer research I have been inspired by Patient Action for Cancer Research, a new initiative led by the inspirational Peter Garrett, with whom I had the pleasure of working at the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
Peter and his team are trying to get the word out about where cures come from, and how essential core federal funding is. As a cancer survivor, I am supporting PACR. Why not take a look yourself?”
