Giving Patients More Options Through Clinical Trials – NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation

NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation shared on LinkedIn:

“‘Clinical trials are about giving patients more options, supporting clinicians to deliver the best available care, and ensuring the health system continues to learn and improve.’

As Chief Executive of Cancer Institute NSW and NSW Health’s Chief Cancer Officer, Professor Tracey O’Brien, AM has seen how how clinical trials improve care.

Patients get access to treatment that isn’t yet routinely available, and trials create a foundation for future medical advances that benefit everyone in the health system.

If we invest in clinical trials more broadly, the opportunities for greater access, patient choice and innovation are immense.

Not every patient will be eligible or choose to participate in a clinical trial, but every patient who may benefit should have the opportunity to consider it.
