Norman Ng Brings Forward Patient Voices Thanking Prof. Ma and CUHK Trial Center

Norman Ng, Director of Patient Advocacy and Public Affairs at Healthcare Thinkers, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Dear Professor Ma,

Greetings!

We are a group of cancer patients from Hong Kong, and we are writing this letter to express our sincerest gratitude and respect to you and the team at the Clinical Trial Center of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine.

As cancer patients, we often face the confusion of treatment choices and the longing for hope. Clinical trials, especially those for innovative drugs, are not only advances in medical research but also bridges that uphold the hope of life for us.

Under your leadership, your team has been promoting the implementation of local clinical trials and striving to secure opportunities for Hong Kong patients to access cutting-edge treatments. We have witnessed and deeply cherished your dedication and efforts.

During our meeting with you earlier, you patiently listened to our expectations for accessing clinical trial information and promised to accelerate the sorting and disclosure of local trial projects, enabling us to promptly understand participation eligibility and seize treatment opportunities.

This consideration for patients’ needs, along with your commitment to maintaining the quality of clinical research, has made us feel not only professional medical expertise but also warm humanistic care. Cancer patients in Hong Kong need such support, and thanks to your team’s efforts, we have gained more confidence in the future of our treatment journey.

We understand that advancing clinical trials is fraught with challenges, yet you and your team have never stopped moving forward. This perseverance not only drives medical progress but also brings light to countless families trapped in hardship.

We are willing to actively cooperate with and support the center’s work, and we hope that under your leadership, more innovative drug trials will be launched in Hong Kong, offering new possibilities for more patients to regain their lives.

Finally, we would like to thank you and your team again for your selfless dedication. May you stay healthy and successfully advance more clinical trial projects, paving a broader path for cancer patients in Hong Kong.

Wishing you every success in your work and all the best!

Sincerely
Alice and Norman
