Norman Ng: Grateful as Both a Pharmaceutical Professional and a Lung Cancer Survivor for Cross-Border Collaboration

Norman Ng, Director of Patient Advocacy and Public Affairs at Healthcare Thinkers, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am deeply grateful and moved as both a pharmaceutical professional and a lung cancer survivor. Over the past 30 years, I have worked in market access and business development at various multinational pharmaceutical companies. What makes this journey even more profound is that my life was saved by targeted anticancer drugs developed by the world-class pharmaceutical R&D companies I once served. This extraordinary experience inspired me to establish the Hong Kong Lung Cancer Patient Concern Group, a platform to connect patients with cutting-edge medical resources and hope.

Today, I am particularly encouraged by Pfizer’s collaboration with China, which reinforces my optimism about the future of pharmaceutical R&D collaboration between the United States and China. Looking back on my 30-year career in the multinational pharmaceutical industry, I feel immense pride and gratitude to have witnessed the remarkable advancement of the global pharmaceutical sector. As someone who has benefited from medical innovation and dedicated my career to it, I firmly believe that cross-border collaboration will continue to drive breakthroughs, bringing new hope to more patients worldwide. I will continue to contribute my efforts to bridge the gap between the pharmaceutical industry and patient communities, embracing the promise of a healthier future.

Thank you to every pharmaceutical company willing to cross borders and put saving lives as the top priority.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for allowing me to witness the most beautiful collaboration in medicine during the best of times.

With the dual identity of both a survivor and a medical professional, I sincerely bless this wave of Sino-American pharmaceutical cooperation:

May it blossom and bear fruit. May more patients, like me, be able to embrace life once again.
