Norman Ng, Director of Patient Advocacy and Public Affairs at Healthcare Thinkers, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As the convenor of the Lung Cancer Concern Group, I’m deeply encouraged by the Hong Kong Government’s latest Policy Address on cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment.
From expanding HPV self-sampling, commissioning AI-assisted lung cancer screening, to enhancing genetic testing and accelerating drug approvals through the ‘1+’ mechanism – these initiatives reflect a bold commitment to improving patient care and solidifying Hong Kong’s leadership in oncology.
We especially look forward to the ‘World Cancer Congress 2026‘ being hosted in Hong Kong, a powerful opportunity to foster global collaboration and elevate our local cancer strategies.
Lung cancer patients deserve earlier detection, more precise treatment, and equitable access to life-saving therapies. The policy direction outlined today is a meaningful step toward that vision.
Together with patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers, I remain committed to building a more hopeful, innovative future in cancer care for Hong Kong.”
