Nirmala Bhoo Pathy: Talking About Cancer Costs and Women’s Health at MBCS 2025
Nirmala Bhoo Pathy, Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at University of Malaya, posted on LinkedIn:
“It was a whirlwind weekend. One day, I was in my corporate shirt, co-hosting a community-based health event and the next, dolled up in one of my favourite attires — the Kebaya.
Not for a party, but to join a fireside chat at the Malaysian Breast Cancer Summit (MBCS) 2025 with Nina Satar.
We spoke about cancer costs, the impact on women with breast cancer and beyond, and what the future should look like if we are to challenge the status quo.
The hall was filled on a Sunday afternoon!
A powerful reminder that the hunger for knowledge, dialogue and change knows no rest.
Moments like these reaffirm why we must keep the conversations going, until awareness turns into action, and action into lasting impact.”
