“What is the ideal ‘precision’ for precisely treating bone oligometastases?
The stereotactic RT team of the Department of Radiation Oncology has just published a thought-provoking paper in Radiotherapy and Oncology:
- Higher treatment doses to bone metastases correlated with improved progression-free and biochemical recurrence-free survival in patients with oligometastatic prostate cancer.
- Patients treated for the whole metastatic “compartment” rather than only the visible lesion had better outcomes
